The traditional views on gender roles play a big part in the lack of education for girls. Khpal Kor Foundation has built a campus where the girls can live and go to school.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Organization:<\/strong>\u00a0Khpal Kor Foundation (KKF)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project:<\/strong>\u00a0Higher secondary education classes for girls in district Swat<\/li>\n<li><strong>Country:<\/strong>\u00a0Pakistan<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong>\u00a0With this project Khpal Kor Foundation offers girls the opportunity to follow their final\u00a02 years of secondary\u00a0education at the Khpal Kor campus. After these two years they are able to\u00a0continue at\u00a0university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Higher secondary education classes for girls in district Swat<\/h2>\n<p>Within this project KidsRights supports 30 girls, to finish grade 11 and 12. After these two years at the Khpal Kor Campus the girls are able to continue their education at university.. This is a\u00a0great opportunity for girls in\u00a0this district. The\u00a0girls often come from a poor family and without this project they would\u00a0have no access to (good quality) education. The goal\u00a0is that after they have been to university, some of the girls will return to the school and\u00a0become a teacher. This way female teachers will become more common, and this\u00a0increase in female teachers\u00a0will create more opportunities for girls to get their education.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><strong>Our project partner KKF<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>KidsRights\u2019 partner Khpal Kor Foundation has been providing education for vulnerable children since 1996 and promote the rights of children in the Swat and Shangla area, the area Malala Yousafzai, the winner of the Children\u00b4s Peace Prize 2013, is from. Malala became an important figure in the battle for girls education after she had been shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 while she was sitting in a school bus. KidsRights has worked together with KKF twice before and both projects have ended with good results.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Pakistan there is still a lot of poverty.
