This forces them to flee to another country. This does not only affect the adults, but also a lot of\u00a0children. The\u00a0rights\u00a0of these children are not always adequately\u00a0protected\u00a0in the\u00a0refugee camps.<\/p>\n<h4>Our children&#8217;s peace prize winners for refugee children<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archived.kidsrights.webkey8.nl\/uk\/advocacy\/winners\/baruani-ndume\/\">2009 &#8211; Baruani Ndume (16), Tanzania<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of these rights is the right to\u00a0education. Many refugee children do not have access to education. There are many factors that result in refugee children not being able to go to school. This may be due to a language barrier, they can fall behind in their education because of the war and as a result cannot keep up at school, or because there is no school in the area where they can go to.<\/p>\n<h2>Did you know that \u2026<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>28 million children worldwide are fleeing from war and violence?<\/li>\n<li>1 in 5 people in Lebanon is a refugee?<\/li>\n<li>Only 61% of refugee children go to school.<\/li>\n<li>2.5 million children have had to flee as a result of the conflict in Syria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What does KidsRights do?<\/h2>\n<h4>Projects &amp; Kidsrights reports on Refugee Children:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archived.kidsrights.webkey8.nl\/uk\/research\/kidsrights-reports\/refugee-children-the-widening-educational-gap\/\">Refugee Children: The widening educational gap<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>KidsRights works together with local partners to realise education for child refugees through research, action and advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, the Syrian Mohamad Al Jounde received the International Children&#8217;s Peace Prize from the hands of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and International Children&#8217;s Peace Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai, for his tireless efforts to ensure the rights of Syrian refugee children.
